| KPP Elects New Board of Directors |
|
The Kansas Power Pool Board of Directors met on February 18th for a re-organizational meeting. The former Board of Directors, which included a representative from each member city, elected a pared down nine member Board of Directors including:
The meeting was the result of a nearly year-long effort wherein member cities approved an amendment to the KPP founding agreement. We hoped that KPP's membership would grow to its current size when we began operations six years ago, but now that we are such a large organization (with continued growth plans) we need a more streamlined and agile leadership organization. The Board will help set an overall direction for KPP and assist in ensuring key milestones are met and the organizational direction is fulfilled. We appreciate the new Board members agreeing to take on the additional responsibilities in tandem with their current positions. And we appreciate our original Board members for helping create a successful, growth-oriented and member-driven organization.
